Scars
A good scar starts in the operating room.
Every facelift leaves scars. My aim is careful planning, meticulous closure and months of follow-up. I cannot promise invisible scars.

01
Planning the incision
The ear, earlobe, hair and the deeper work your face needs guide the design. I aim for the shortest scar that allows the surgery to be performed properly. Its exact length is discussed during assessment.
02
Incision and closure without rushing
CO₂ laser is part of my incision protocol. I then close in layers and with an intradermal suture, aiming to align tissues smoothly without the skin carrying all the facelift tension. My usual closure avoids external stitches in the relevant areas.
03
Following the healing process
Scars mature over months. Follow-up helps us recognise unfavourable healing early and decide whether treatment is appropriate. Frax 1550™ and other treatments are considered according to the scar; technology complements technique but does not guarantee an outcome.
04
If healing is not as expected
Problematic scars are not all alike. Monitoring, medical treatment, CO₂, IPL, Frax or polynucleotides may be considered depending on the issue. Skin quality, medical history and habits also influence healing.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the scar?
The location depends on the approach and your anatomy. I will explain the planned incision before you decide.
Does laser guarantee a good scar?
No. No technology completely eliminates the risk of unfavourable healing.
