The first days need care and close support. You then gradually return to daily life while tissues continue to heal. Timings are approximate and your instructions are individual.

Surgery and the first 24 hours
Surgery is usually outpatient, with a companion taking you home. We plan an initial review and dressing care. Your instructions specify compression support, usually during the first week.

The first week
We provide close follow-up and frequent reviews. Swelling and bruising may accompany recovery. Lymphatic drainage is used where indicated. Hair washing is usually allowed around 48 hours, always following the team's instructions.

Work, social life and exercise
Social recovery is often around 10–20 days, with individual variation. Exercise resumes progressively when authorised, around one month as a guide. This is not an automatic deadline or complete healing.

Appointments and returning home
We plan reviews at one and three months in addition to early follow-up. For patients living elsewhere, we organise video follow-up and later reviews, including at 6–12 months where appropriate. The initial Mallorca stay is usually 5–10 days depending on surgery and recovery.

If something worries you
Operated patients receive an emergency telephone number and contact instructions. Do not wait for your next appointment for substantial bleeding, rapidly increasing swelling, fever or severe pain despite treatment. For breathing difficulty or a serious emergency, call 112.
